Getting into the groove...UPDATED

I really feel like EJ and I are settling into a nice routine. We often stay in bed for his morning bottle and fall back asleep before we get up for good for the day. Then we head out for a walk with Jimmy and run errands. EJ loves the car and shopping, and I am so thankful and lucky for that! We have his Christening set for April 19th and we'll have a big family party back at our house after the ceremony. I'm looking forward to everyone meeting him.

We had his first professional pictures taken the other night and we got some great smiles out of him. We have an adorable shot of him naked on his favorite blanket that Auntie Katie made for him. I'll have to scan it in and post it here soon. It's so darn cute ;)

The weather is getting so nice and I don't have to bundle him up in sleepers anymore. He's now in cute outfits and I have so much fun dressing him every day. I always thought baby girl clothes were cuter, but EJ has some great duds :)

And I also made his birth announcement (finally!)...

EJ is having his very first sleepover without Mommy tonight. My parents are going to have him overnight to give me and Ed a chance to go out to dinner alone and SLEEP tonight! I'm also looking forward to going out to breakfast in the morning :) I know I will really miss my little guy, but I also know how excited my Mom is to have him all night.

So of course Ed and I were planning a very romantic evening. And of course I got my period last night. I mean come on! We haven't had any time alone in 10 weeks, and before that I was on bed rest and I've been on pelvic rest since the pregnancy started. And now the bitch rears her ugly head!!! Effing slut. (LOL.) Well, at least I'll be able to drink a whole bottle of wine tonight if I feel like it ;)

Other than that, EJ is doing great. We're planning his Christening for April 19th. I'm not really into the silky white outfits babies usually wear, so I found a really cute white cotton outfit at BRU. My SIL put her son in a flowing white gown that reached the floor and I see her eyes roll every time I mention my "plain and simple" outfit. Whatever.

2-month check up

First off, I want to post this picture raving about the awesome blanket Katie (of The Happy Hours) made for my little EJ. The colors perfectly match his bedroom and it's so cozy. Katie is so crafty and thoughtful that she made the outer hem with 409 stitches. 409 is the number of my beta way back on May 14, 2008. How awesome is that?!?! And as you can see, EJ loves it :)



We also had our 2-month check up yesterday and EJ is growing like crazy! He's now 9 lbs 14 oz and is 22 inches long. I can't believe he's just about doubled his weight since we brought him home. I also can't believe some women deliver babies this size...God bless them!!
